The launch of the Green Investment Bank Commission report on 29th June 2010 has generated ongoing media discussion about how to finance the move to a low carbon economy, and on the potential relationship between any Green Investment Bank and the Carbon Trust.

Product carbon footprinting: the business opportunity

A new Carbon Trust report brings results from twenty companies that are part of our product carbon footprinting and labelling initiative.

The report explains the menu of options when working with us, each with multiple benefits:

PAS Launch - What is the Carbon Footprint of your product?

Businesses can from today assess the carbon footprint of their goods and services and play a greater part in fighting climate change, thanks to a new standard launched by BSI British Standards, the Carbon Trust and Defra.

The standard – called PAS 2050 – is a consistent way of counting the greenhouse gas emissions embedded in goods and services throughout their entire life cycle – from sourcing raw materials, through to manufacture, distribution, use and disposal.

Marshalls plc press release: World leader in carbon labelling

UK-based landscape company, Marshalls plc has today announced that from next month it will have the largest number of officially carbon labelled products, anywhere in the world.

The UK is leading the way in carbon labelling internationally, and Marshalls has been involved with the Carbon Trust's carbon labelling pilot scheme for the past 18 months.
