Certification services are delivered by an independent Company, the Carbon Trust Footprinting Certification Company which is committed to providing impartial certification services. Your product carbon footprints are certified for conformity with PAS 2050, the Code of Good Practice and the certification requirements within Footprint Expert™.

Impartiality and Search for Excellence

• The Carbon Trust Footprinting Certification Company is independent, and is committed to providing impartial certification services. It has built impartiality into its structure, strategy, policies, procedures and operations and is committed to continuous improvement in this area.
• The Company has recently become one of the first UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) accredited organisation to deliver Product Carbon Footprint certification against PAS 2050.
• Accreditation by UKAS independently demonstrates that the Company is delivering certification to internationally recognised standards (ISO 14065) in the market of GHG emissions Verification/Certification.

Comparability

Certification for conformity with the certification requirements in Footprint Expert™ maximises the comparability of your product carbon footprint with those of other similarly certified products and services and therefore gives you the ability to provide your customers and share-holders consistent product carbon footprints with the assurance of independent third party certification.

Certification to this standard is necessary to be able to use the Carbon Reduction Label.

How to get started with certification process?

When we certify a product or service, it is certified for conformity with the PAS2050 and certification requirements contained within Footprint Expert™. Footprint Expert is a publicly available standard, containing calculators, guidance and templates to enable a company to undertake the product carbon footprinting process - see www.footprintexpert.com for more information.
